Resources, Barbs and Crests Tips and Techniques

Information provided by other members from other alliances

1. ATTACKING WILDS

Attacking wilds has two purposes. First and the most beneficial is to increase your city’s resource production. Second is to collect crests to get your third and fourth cities.
When going after a wild with the intent to conquer it for the resource increase, use a trap removal team. This team is nothing more than a number of militia equal to the number of traps in the wild you are going after. Follow this group immediately with your main attack force. Make sure that the slowest troop in the main attack force is as slow or slower the militia. (Don’t want the wrong group hitting the wild first.) Replacing a few militia is easier than replacing a bunch of more expensive troops as the traps will be spread throughout the attacking force if they are not removed.

2. SEARCHING FOR CRESTS

The KoC site says that the location of Crest is a random drop, with the majority of each crest type falling on a particular wilderness type. They recommend that the story of Arthur and his Knights give clues concerning their lives and upbringing. Below, I have listed the Knights and some basic facts about each knight along with recommendations that these facts may give as clues.
These are only suggestions. I use these clues and have been successful, especially in the case of Percival and Lancelot.
Good Luck!!

King Arthur- Born at Tintagel (Hills?)
Raised by Sir Ector (grasslands?)
Camelot built atop the tallest HILL(?) in Cornwall.

Morgana le Fey- Arthurs sister and mother to Mordred.
born in Cornwall (Hills?)
married to King Lot of Orkney (grasslands?)

Mordred- son of Arthur
raised in Orkney (grasslands?)
stronghold in the WOODS(?)
Killed by Arthur at Camlann on Salisbury PLAINS(?)

Ector- Arthurs foster father
Noble farming family (grasslands?)

Kay- Foster brother of Arthur
Noble farming family (grasslands?)
most famous deed, killing the giant and freeing the captives from a LAKE(?)

Lancelot du Lac- name means of the LAKE(?)

most famous deed, killing the Copper Knight at Delorous Guard (MTNS?)

Galahad- Son of Lancelot(LAKES?)
raised in a nunnery (MTNS?)

Percival - raised in the WOODS(?)

Gawain- Arthurs nephew/ brother of Mordred
Born in Wales (Hills and Woods?)

Bors de Ganis - only Knight to return from the Grail Quest
Known as a great horseman (PLAINS?)

Bedivere - this guy is difficult, clues can lead anywhere. He was a wandering knight, so was known to be anywhere, as his life shows.
educated in a monastery in MTNS(?)
after Arthurs death, returns Excalibur to Vivienne (LAKE?)
lives the rest of his life as a hermit in the WOODS(?)
buried at Tryfan HILL(?)

thats about what I gather from the Tales of the Knights of the Round Table.

3. BARB HUNTING and charts shows the ten levels of Barbarian Camp and the higher the level the more heavily fortified the camp

Your fletching should equal the level of camp your hitting or higher. If you have higher level fletching the amount of archers will decrease, ask in alliance Chat for amounts with your fletching level. You can hit camps once an hour and have a full load. Also note that the higher the lvl in featherweight powder the better the carrying capacity as well.

Barbarian camps loot totals are;
Gold 1k Food 100k Wood 10k Stone 1k Ore 100 times the level of the camp. (a total of 121,100 of load per level)

That website shows what each level barb camp is holding in each type of troop and resource, as well as what is recommended to send at each of level. All these numbers on there have been tested and you will have no troop losses when sending those amounts. However it also states to send things such as wagons, supply troops or militia on some of them, these troops are there just to help carry back the resources and are much slower then the other troops. I recommend replacing them with pikemen and/or swordsmen as they are much quicker however you cannot simply replace them with the same amounts of the other troops you took out as they do not carry the same amounts of resources. If you notice on the website above the very last column shows the total amount of resources in the barbarian camp so you will have to go in and add additional troops until you have met the requirements and try to remember what numbers and types of troops you added to the march so you don't have to go thru it each time.

HERE IS A ROUTINE TO BARB

I realize not everybody has a lot of time barb hunt so here are some things that have helped me. Figure out a route around whichever city you are going to barb from, just go to your map and pull it to one side then just start to circle your city on the map. Try to find a path you can take every time you barb with a good amount of camps in the path. Also, you have 9 spots in your rally point to fill so give yourself a little bit of distance from your city to barb in, 35 units is a good distance to stop at, that will have your archers marching for 7 minutes. Now to keep your marches going effectively you will want to uses light or heavy cavalry on lvl 1-3 barb camps as they are faster and will enable you to send more marches out in any time period. Do not use horses when attacking any barb camps higher then lvl 3 as you will lose some of them. Here is easier set of numbers on horses for lvls 1-3 camps with no losses and can carry all the loot.

lvl 1 - 1,000 light or heavy cavs
lvl 2 - 2,000 light or heavy cavs
lvl 3 - 4,500 light or 3,000 heavy cavs

You don't have to attack a lot of barb camps to feed the amount of troops that we would like each of you to have. If you are negative 500k in food you only need to hit the equivalent 24 lvl 5 barb camps each day to keep up with it. With a lvl 9 rally point you can do that in less then half an hour, you can even do it while working on builds or use your horses to hit lvl 1-3 barb camps while you crest hunt with your archers. If you do not have any horses at all I suggest you build 10k of each.

So to reiterate, try to barb hunt everyday you get on, don't send wagons, supply troops or militia on barb marches as they will only slow you down, and use horses on lvl 1-3 barb camps.
